It is true that a lot of people (A LOT!) don’t know how to apply eyeliner, but wear it anyway. Too thick, not close enough to the lashline, or even too thin, are common mistakes people make. If you apply the liner so close to the lash line that there is no space between the liner and the lashes, you have conquered the first hurdle. Next, use even strokes, and preferable a thicker line toward the outside of the eye. Practice, practice, practice. The more you do it, the better you get. Here are some tips to get you started:

I would like to use purple eyeshadow without looking like I’m from the ’80s. Any tips?

I love purple eyeshadow when it is applied in a beautiful way, but I agree that the ’80s look is easier to achieve. I think for this kind of look the technique you use is very important. Take note of how the eyes in the video below look harsh before she completes the look. Don’t worry if in the process you don’t like your look. If you follow these instructions, it will come together in the end.
